Research Associate (m/f/d), E13 TV-L with PhD Perspective

Research Focus

The research will focus on robotic system design and development in the field of distributed robotics for architectural applications. Related research work will include an ongoing collaborative research project with the university's research partner STRABAG  SID Innovation and Digitalization. This project involves developing an autonomous robotic system in a team of researchers based on the novel on-site additive manufacturing method “Differential Boundary Deposition” (DBD).

Candidate Profile

The ICD is looking for a motivated researcher with:

• Experience in researching, iterative development and integration of mechatronic components for custom robotic systems.
• Knowledge of electromechanical systems, microcontroller programming, and CAD software.
• Intrinsic motivation to work in a collaborative and highly agile environment.
• A strong ability to work independently and take initiative in conducting interdisciplinary research tasks.
• A master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or Model-Based Engineering or in a similar field would be beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent language skills are required. Good German language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
